Busy, busy

It's been a long week-
the Scion show was interesting- great art, great looking show- however, 12 of the artists works were censored from the show by one of Scion's higher ups...
apparently, vaginas and penises aren't art- or at least Scion does not want you to associate them with vaginas and penises.
regardless- Justin Giarla at the Shooting Gallery hooked us up with a one night 'censored show', and everything worked out...
Michae Hussar, Kent Williams, Kevin Llewellyn, Angela Ryan and Mercedes Helnwein drove their art up from los angeles for the event and Kristi Ropeleski flew in from montreal... Robin Williams and family made it out to the event for a few laughs and a little jabbing at Scion.
friday night, Curve, Sylvia Ji, myself and the help of many others- packed up the artwork and Sylvia, Curve and me drove a packed uhual down to los angeles friday night at 10pm- dropped off Kent's work, dorpped off Kevin's work and crashed at Hussar's... Saturday we went to Vintage Tattoo in los angeles and I photographed Baba tattooing Everlast- cool dudes- good times, next time I'm down that way- will be sure to hang out again...
Saturday night went to a few art shows- and then a drinking bonanza with Tara Mcpherson, Curve, Hussar and Jill.
Sunday we ran around some more- we dropped off Mercedes work and met her dad, Gottfried Helnwein, checked out his new book and photographed a painter friend of Gottfrieds, Arthur. Mercedes and I hooked up a trade, I got two of her amazing new drawings for one of my new paintings, I'm stoked to hang them soon... aslo photographed clothing designer,Kal of Mother May I clothing then barbecued at Roger Gastman's house- crazy art collection...
Monday, went back to the Helwein's and shot Cyril for the tattooed portraits, stopped by Shepard Fairey's office/gallery and picked up some more art for White Walls- drove back and now just trying to catch up...
I'm working on two paintings for collectible cups with Subway sandwiches- Baseball managers' Joe Torre and Willie Randolph-
they will be at every Subway in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania soon.....
Yukiko and I are finally going to Japan this Saturday to meet the family- she hasn't been home in 5 years- and I've never met them- it should be interesting... Also stopping by Three Tides Tattoo in Osaka to photograph a couple of tattoo artists, as well....
As for art shows- I'm working on a piece with Henry Lewis for a Collabrative show in los angeles, I have a new drawing up at Outer edge Studio in Monterey, working on a piece for the Shooting Gallery's Erotic Show, a new piece for a group show ata Phil Holt's Red Letter in Tampa, and several other things down the road.
Trying to finish up some works for Digital Three in florida, working on a painting for a calendar with the National Labor Federation and a couple of commissions that I have yet to start...
School just ended at CCA- and the Academy ends soon...
I am also moving my studio from above White Walls- into my basement- it's a huge space, with complete privacy, a window to the backyard and the convenience of being close to home... I look forward to the move so I can keep what I'm working on this next year under wraps...
