quick note
haven't written in a while-
too much to do, so little time...
went to miami in early december for art basel and taping with miami ink- spent time with old friends and a few new ones....
miami blows, too many spring break meat heads, rich sightseers and old grumpies- cheesy, tacky, fake- good old miami florida...
actually had the chance to see some old students, peers, colleagues and instructors from ringling- always great to see familiar faces... life keeps keeping on.
school starts next week- I've been tattooing once a week on the local young thug divis kids, working on dark skin is not easy...
did a tv interview with channel 5 in sf on tattoo culture in san francisco, should be out in feb- the miami ink thing should be out in late feb- early march...
taught/painted at the conceptart.org workshop in sf in december with the crew, amazing performances to kick off the event, this was definitely a different workshop...
working on MANY new, upcoming solo shows-
march 2rd (FRIDAY!!!!) 2007 in philly at lineage gallery (doll series works)
may 5th 2007 in SF at the shooting gallery (tattooed portraits and a new book release)
october 2007 at invisble in NYC
december 2007, art basel in Miami, solo show- more to come on that...
2008- solo at billy shire fine arts in june
and a solo in november 2008 at the shooting gallery in sf...
a few group shows in the mix, as well- it's hard to keep up.
I've been cranking on a ton of new stuff- soon, I will show it all- the kat von d painting, alison casson painting, chantal menard painting and aaron cain machine painting- are all sneak peeks at what's new...
i've also been tutoring a couple of local tattooers in drawing and painting- trying to spend more time with my wife and starting to say no to things a little more often.
as far as emails and myspace letters and requests, I'll do my best to write you back when I can get a second to breath...
