just got back from philadelphia last night- a great time with great people.
met a lot of new friends and saw a whole bunch of old ones...
old friends from ringling- chris and trish ryniak came out for the weekend, ryan and jessica frease, kerry dunn, eric carter, christina rose and joe delorenzo from precollege.
mike Hurley and kate made it out for a couple of days- mike is going to pick up the reigns on my new book and make it look much more unique than what I'm capable of doing...
photographed dave fox at ollde city tattoo for the tattooed portraits series and also photographed genevive in the bathroom for the series- looking forward to painting both pieces, for sure.
joe capobianco had an opening the same night at trinity gallery, saw joe and met jessica (from pulse) and her friend, as well...
josh and bradley showed me a great time- sold some work, and had the chance to meet quite a few new and old collectors of my works. sean christopher and his lady were great, really nice, genuine people.
I landed in philadelphia late weds night- checked out the show and realized that I just didn't have enough work to make the show look complete. thursday, went to pearl and picked up 3 canvases- a 30x36" and two 12x16" canvases- painted my ass off from about 2pm on thursday to 630am the next day.... woke up at 11am- and went right back to it. I'm actually really happy with the 30x36" piece for a day and a half's work (tripleskullhead piece)- friday night was the opening... saturday went to the mutter museum for the 2nd time- amazing collection that I really wanted to photograph...
sunday went to nelson shank's studio incamminati to meet kerry dunn for a tour of the school, then went to genevives for a photoshoot- back to the gallery, lunch, then off to sf... definitely glad to be home and back to the grind- I'm going to reno on thursday with norm, phil holt and reyes for a tattoo convention next weekend......
